In order to be eligible to apply for a security guard registration through the Bureau of Security and Investigative Service (BSIS), you must:

Be at least 18 years old (BPC Section 7582.8)
Undergo a criminal history background check through the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) (BPC Sections 7581 and 7583.9) and
Complete this 8-hour Powers to Arrest and Appropriate Use of Force training

This 8-hour powers to arrest and appropriate use of force training must be completed prior to the issuance of a Security Guard Registration (BPC Sections 7583.6 and 7583.8). You must also complete an additional thirty-two (32) hours of training in security officer skills within the first six (6) months of registration. Thereafter, you must take eight hours of continuing training annually.

Please arrive at 8:30 a.m. for registration. Class starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m.

Description:

The BSIS Guard Card course is an 8-hour class that covers the required Powers to Arrest and Appropriate Use of Force training. You must pass a written test before you can submit your application. The training certificate will be issued at the end of the course.

Requirements:
1. Must possess a valid CA Driver’s License, ID Card, or U.S. Passport
2. Must be at least 18 years old or older
3. Must be a citizen of the United States or have permanent legal alien status.

All classes taught by Delta Tactical are in English. Please read this thoroughly before signing up for any classes offered by Delta Tactical. At this time, we do not provide or allow translators to accompany students during classes, nor do we allow usage of translation applications "apps", software or other translation services to be used during classes. Students who attend our classes must be fluent in the English language and be able to understand, read and write in English.

Anyone suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to take the course. DELTA TACTICAL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE.

Bring the following:

1. Pen and notebook
2. CA Photo ID, DL, or U.S. Passport and Social Security Card (original)

Note: The cost of the course does NOT include the BSIS application fee or the Live Scan fee for the DOJ/FBI Criminal Background Check that are mandatory requirements.
